We started this little coffee journey just six months ago with a simple belief: coffee should be fresh, delicious, and meaningful. For us, roasting is not about chasing profit or following the impersonal world of commercial coffee. It is about turning our passion into something that can make a difference.
My husband, our roasting partner, and I are lifelong coffee lovers. Over the years, we have travelled to many countries and tasted it all, from blends to single origins, from affordable everyday beans to some of the most exclusive coffees in the world.
When we finally settled in New Zealand, the place where we met and studied, we noticed something was missing. Most supermarket coffee was not freshly roasted, and the bean quality was often disappointing. That is when we decided to start our own roastery. It has not been easy. Focusing on high quality beans and refusing to compromise has made it hard to balance the finances. But we know it is worth it.
For us, this journey has always been about two things:
-
Creating coffee that balances specialty and everyday drinking. We want coffee lovers to enjoy the quality of a specialty roast, while still feeling it fits naturally into their daily lives.
-
Giving back to our community. Part of every sale goes towards helping stray cats, covering their vet bills and food so they can live safer and healthier lives.
We know that for many people, coffee is part of a social ritual. It is about catching up with friends, family, or colleagues at a café over a flat white. But we also believe there is something deeply special about enjoying freshly roasted coffee at home. Coffee that tastes even better than what you would expect from a café. It is about slowing down, savouring the flavour, and simply saying to yourself: yummmmy coffee.
Most importantly, we want to say thank you. Life is not always easy, but every single purchase you have made has helped us continue this journey. With your support, we are not just roasting better coffee. Together, we are building a kinder community.
Here is to more good coffee, more happy cats, and more quiet and enjoyable moments.
